Neil owns the last unreleased master track recording on which Grammy Winner -Sax legend Grover Washington Jr. performed, an original tune called, ”WHEN THE RIGHT ONE COMES ALONG”.
Neil writes Music & Lyrics in all genres, like water coming out of a faucet. He has written with percussionist – producer Norman Arnold (Warner Brothers composer), Smooth Jazz Sax player Warren Hill, and guitarist Richard Lee Steacker (Stevie Wonder – Grover Washington Jr.)
Neil Elliott Dorval is my “artiste’ candidate” for the nexus of transforming himself into SuperStar status. Neil has the Talent, the performing experience, the products, and the intelligence to metamorphose to such a lofty level of the Entertainment Industry. Neil fills a huge void, as there is no instrumental pianist making any significant contribution in his targeted demographic. He has zero competition. …Harvey Cooper, (former Vice President 20th Century Fox, Emi – RCA Records).
Genre: Adult Contemporary Crossover Piano based Instrumental with some vocals & vocal guests – Soft Rock, Jazz, Blues, Island, & Pop.

Neil is a graduate of Temple University’s Music School, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A, one of the finest music schools, in the world.
Neil has performed more gigs than anyone anywhere, during the last 15 years through 2011. He has created a niche audience and has been able to perform multiple gigs each workday, during this time period. There have been occasions when he performed as many as 9 one hour private & public gigs in a single day, coordinated logistically to allow that to happen. The average has been about 3/day.
Prior to relocating to the west coast, Neil appeared anywhere and everywhere in and around Philadelphia, racking up airplay, press interviews, public appearances, and scores of performances at numerous music venues. Neil also established the group “Olde City”, working musicians, featuring Nashville born and based “Country” talent “Scott Whitehead’ (a James Taylor clone & CMA nominee “Hometown News” ). They recorded one Vinyl record.
Neil’s band, “Olde City” was very well received. Prior to leaving Philadelphia, Neil was socializing at music music events with Patti Labelle, Julius Erving, Darryl Hall, Suzanne Vega, Mick Taylor, Jerry Garcia, Bruce Hornsby..
“I really enjoyed the years “Olde City” was together. Everybody really enjoyed our music, and so did I. We had a soft rock A.C. repertoire. Playing with Scott Whitehead(later of Hometown News, was an amazing really enjoyable musical experience. He is very humble, and an extraordinarily talented musician, He later flew “Top Gun” in the Navy, and after that was nominated for a C.M.A. for best Vocal (as an indie artist). That pretty much says it all.” …Neil Elliott Dorval
“The Piano I used on many of my recordings on “Underneath The Moon & Satrs” @ Kingsound Studios, is the exact one Bruce Hornsby used on some of his hits. Eddie King was the same engineer too,.” “I have also recorded with Joe Vanelli @ Bluemoon Studios, in Agoura Hills, CA, Peter Humphries at Sigma Sound Studios in Philly, and recently with Burleigh Drummond (Ambrosia), in Thousand Oaks, CA. All wonderful experiences. … Neil Elliott Dorval

Neil spent a day with Jackson Browne, @ Jackson’s Goovemasters Studio in Santa Monica, during the background vocals for Jackson’s “My “Problem is You”. Neil was brought to the session by Sweet Pea Atkinson(lead singer of “Was Not Was”), & famed background singer with Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Elton John, and Willie Nelson …). Sweet Pea at the time was recording vocals on many of Neil’s debut singer-songwriter CD.
Hanging out with Sweet Pea Atkinson during the recording of “A Permanent Vacation” and at Jackson Browne’s studio was always great fun. He has a really dynamic personality, and he is always making everyone laugh. Plus he has so many stories, as he has sung with so many famous musicians boom Boom Aka laka laka boom – Boom Boom – Aka laka Boom Boom…Neil Elliott Dorval

Paradise was written in Maui, Hawaii, at Longi’s Diner. George Harrison’s Gone Troppo references the same place, (he lived in Hana, on Maui). We were having breakfast there, and the restaurant is literally on the water. So beautiful. I started writing the lyrics down on a napkin. The song seemed to write itself. When I went back to the mainland, I started composing the music on my piano, which was already in my head.We went into the Hollywood, CA, recording studio and cut the track in one day. The session went very smoothly. A lot of fun. Laurence Juber from Paul McCartney’s band, one of the best guitarists in the world, came in to the studio to record along with Don Heffington, & Hutch Hutchinson. The photos of the four of us out side the studio were taken that day. Paradise is one of my favorites. It has a great feel. I love the opening line, “Come on in, you are welcome here”. Very fitting for the mood. Note: the 4th line of verse 1 should be sung “The air is so fresh & clear”. The “bridge” also has such a feel good vibe, which I enjoy performing. I am very proud of this piece. Paradise is perfect for many recording artists, and for film, both with vocals and as an instrumental.
